Stand the radar watch before you stand it at sea.
Marine Radar Lab puts a full radar and ARPA console, the bridge window and the helm in your pocket. Practise collision avoidance, steering and the COLREG lights on your phone, the way they are done on the bridge. We are opening a beta for seafarers. Join the waiting list now: when your place opens, we add you as a tester and email you how to install.
The app
A bridge you can train on, every day.
Everything works the way the real equipment does: the trackball, the EBL and VRM, the trial manoeuvre, ship dynamics fitted to real sea trials, and weather that changes how she handles. Practice in the app is training practice, not sea service.
Radar and ARPA
A real-set console: gain, sea and rain clutter, EBL and VRM, ARPA acquisition, AIS, guard zones, trial manoeuvre. Decide-and-act encounters scored from your watch record.
OOW
The bridge window
Look out at the ships you see on radar, with their correct lights by night and shapes by day, under the real sky. Swell, spray, rain and the roll that comes with them.
Rating and up
Helm and steering
Take helm orders in standard phrases, repeat them, execute them and report. Steer by gyro, by magnetic compass and by leading lights, in crossing, overtaking and man-overboard situations.
Rating and up
COLREG and SMCP
The full International Regulations with plain explanations and quick checks, free for everyone. See the lights, shapes and sound signals of every vessel in action.
Books free · simulations Rating
Voyages
Stand continuous watches on real trade routes, pilot to pilot, with traffic, weather and a proper watch handover. Open sea and coastal waters for the OOW.
OOW
Captain mode
Command the bridge hands-free. A voice crew answers your helm and engine orders, the lookout reports by points, and the officer of the watch advises from the radar picture.
Master
Free and premium
Free to start. Premium keeps it growing.
The radar lessons, the screen tour, setting up the radar, the console and its equipment, and the COLREG and SMCP books are free for everyone. The training with traffic, scenarios and voices is in premium plans. Your subscription pays for the development that makes the app better every week.

Support Radar Lab
Give seafarers more time on the bridge, before their first real watch.
Many students and aspiring officers get only limited individual simulator time before they join a real vessel. School simulators are expensive and shared, and onboard the bridge is an operational workplace. We built Marine Radar Lab to change that, and we want to take it further: validation with experienced mariners, more devices, more realistic scenarios, and access seafarers can afford. Read the full story.
The bridge should not be the first place where a seafarer finally gets enough simulator time.

Support is a gift that funds development. It does not buy access to the beta, certification or sea time.
