Yet many students and aspiring officers receive only limited individual simulator time before joining a real vessel. School simulators are expensive and shared. Onboard, the bridge is an operational workplace—not always a place where a cadet or rating can freely experiment with RADAR, ARPA, EBL/VRM, vectors, CPA/TCPA and collision scenarios.
The bridge should not be the first place where a seafarer finally gets enough simulator time.
We built Radar Lab to change that. It places a practical RADAR/ARPA simulator on a device a seafarer can use again and again—at home, while reviewing, or before joining a vessel.
What your support makes possible
We have already built the working application. Now we want to expand it, validate it further with experienced mariners, bring it to more devices, create more realistic scenarios, and make access affordable to the seafarers who need practice most.
Support the work
Support is a gift that funds development. It does not buy access to the beta, certification or sea time. Marine Radar Lab is a practice tool: not approved training, not for navigation.
Fair winds,
